SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Anna Caballero (D-Salinas) today introduced legislation intended to address the state’s growing housing supply and affordability crisis.  The measure, called the California Middle Class Affordable Housing and Homeless Shelter Act of 2018 (ACA 11), would deliver needed resources to provide homeownership assistance for first-time homebuyers, affordable rents for families from middle to very-low income households, and housing and shelter for homeless individuals.  To fund this act, the bill would impose a statewide quarter cent sales tax beginning on January 1, 2019

SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblymember Anna Caballero (D-Salinas) announced a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC) workshop in her district. The event takes place today at Hartnell College, starting at 5 p.m. Assemblymember Caballero has partnered with Board of Equalization, Chair Fiona Ma, and Monterey United Way to bring this event to Salinas Valley residents.

(Sacramento) – Millions of dollars for hundreds of thousands of Californians. That’s what the California Earned Income Tax Credit program adds up to, says Assemblymember Anna Caballero (D-Salinas). She authored House Resolution 19 to spread the word about Cal-EITC. “In its first year, Cal-EITC boosted the income of nearly 400,000 Californians, providing nearly $200 million in refunds,” said Assemblymember Caballero. “In California alone, an estimated $2 billion of state and federal EITC has not been used.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Anna M. Caballero (D-Salinas) introduced Assembly Bill 1223, which would require a state or local agency to post to its Internet Web site the names of each construction contractor paid, including the date and amount of the payment, within 10 days of making a construction contract payment.
