SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Anna M. Caballero (D-Salinas) today stated she will immediately call a legislative hearing to consider the economic impact of the final draft flow plan for the Lower San Joaquin River on the agriculture industry and residents. “Instead of proceeding with this devastating and reckless plan, as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Agriculture, I demand a hearing and study to determine the actual functional flows required to improve fisheries, while protecting the economies of rural communities.”

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Anna M. Caballero (D-Salinas) today announced a total of $1 million has been awarded to the Cities of Salinas and Gilroy – $500,000 for each city – from the California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) California Violence Intervention Prevention (CalVIP) Grant Program.  Assemblymember Caballero helped secure the funds during the 2018-19 state budget process which will be directed at local efforts to improve the safety and quality of life in Salinas and Gilroy neighborhoods.

The Young Legislators Program provides high school students in the 30th Assembly District the unique opportunity to learn first-hand about California government and the legislative process, and prepares local youth to become leaders in their communities.
