(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Hollister) proudly named Evelia Morales Rosso Assembly District 30’s 2019 Woman of the Year. Rosso was honored as part of a Women’s History Month celebration at the State Capitol hosted by the Legislative Women’s Caucus.
(SACRAMENTO) – Today Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Hollister) announced his environmental bill package. The environment has long been a top priority for Assemblymember Rivas and he is proud to introduce a bold package of bills to protect our air, water and soil.
(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Hollister) issued the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s 2019 State of the State address:
“Governor Gavin Newsom reinforced his commitment to a cleaner and smarter California and to tackling our state’s most pressing issues head on. This is a Governor who is serious about housing because it’s a serious problem. And we know it’s not just a big city issue; the state’s housing shortage has a huge impact on our rural communities,” said Rivas. “That’s why I’m committed to working with the Governor and local leaders to ensure that all Californians are able to put a roof over their heads. A key piece of this for our district is ensuring that farmworkers have the quality, dignified housing they deserve.”
(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Hollister) praises the California Department of Housing and Community Development for awarding over $3.5 million to the Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz Counties’ Continuum of Care (CoC). The funds, from the California Emergency Solutions and Housing (CESH) program, will be allocated regionally by an administrative agency to help those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Hollister) applauds Governor Newsom for taking action to assist federal employees in California impacted by the federal government shutdown that began on December 22, 2018. Eligible employees who are furloughed or continue to work without timely payment of their earned wages will be able to file for Unemployment Insurance (UI) through the California Employment Development Department (EDD).

“It’s critical that Californians have safe, reliable and affordable sources of energy. That’s why I will work closely with the Governor and my colleagues in the Legislature to ensure any solutions adequately protect our workers, environment and ratepayers.”
