SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay), announced that Governor Gavin Newsom has signed her final three bills of the 2025 legislative session: Assembly Bills 761, 1076, and 1487.
"Each of these bills strengthens our communities — from ensuring fiscal stability in public transportation for the Central Coast, to protecting Californians' financial wellbeing and expanding access to health and wellness for LGBTQ+ individuals," said Addis." - AB 761: Monterey-Salinas Transit Tax Cap – Authorizes the Monterey-Salinas Transit District (MST) to submit a measure to district voters, if they choose to do so, to propose a retail transaction and use tax of no more than 1/4 –cent.
- AB 1076: Qualified ABLE Program – Expands access to CalABLE accounts, making it easier for people with disabilities to save and use funds for essential needs. The bill allows individuals who receive CalKIDS funds but don't plan to attend college to transfer that money into CalABLE accounts for other critical expenses.
- AB 1487: 2TGI Wellness and Equity Fund – Recognizes Two-Spirit identities and ensures resources are equitably distributed across the full diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.
All three bills will take effect on January 1, 2026.
Dawn Addis was elected to the California State Assembly in 2022 to represent the coastal 30th Assembly District, which includes San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties. She is the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1 on Health.
